With their fractured songs, unexpected blasts of feedback, laconic vocals, cryptic literate lyrics, and defiant low-fidelity, Pavement were one of the most influential and distinctive bands to emerge from the American underground in the '90s. Pavement, along with Sebadoh, were the leaders of the lo-fi movement that dominated U.S. indie rock in the early '90s. Initially conceived as a studio project between guitarists/vocalists Stephen Malkmusand Scott Kannberg in the '80s, Pavement gradually became a band during the early '90s. Along the way, their initial EPs and debut album, 1992's Slanted & Enchanted, earned a devoted following of musicians, indie fans, and critics.

My First Mine Lyrics

Pavement

Started in the old south
I brought it to the new west
Sold it for a dry claim
I bought it back the hard way
Ive got a mine thats fine
Isnt it the best one yet?
I bought it in 49
Ive got a mine thats fine
Heard about your bad fall
I guess its just the rocks fault
I bet you need some old south
Ill sell it for your gold teeth
Ive got a mind thats fine
I swear its the best one yet
I bought it in 49
Ive got a mind thats fine
She was just a moaner
She was never saved
Bruises in my stomach fight
I fed it to my engine
Ive got a mind thats fine
I swear its the best one yet
I bought it in 49
Ive got a mine thats fine
Ive got a mine thats fine
Ive got a mine thats fine
Ive got a mine thats fine
Ive got a mine thats fine.
